Zenaga (Cu, Ag, Au):
(Drâa-Tafilalet region)

ZENAGA Project: semi-industrial exploitation

It is the result of
full exploration:

Detailed mapping, systematic sampling, geochemical analysis of soils and river sediments, reconnaissance trenching, geophysical surveys (GPR method) and core drilling. These converging works confirmed a first class copper and silver potential, paving the way for open pit mining development.

Geology

The Zenaga Licence occupies a prominent position among the Zenaga Inlier copper deposits, offering a mineral reserve of considerable importance. Located in the Anti-Atlas domain of Morocco, which forms the northern margin of the West African Craton, this geological deposit is mainly characterised by a Palaeoproterozoic basement.

The latter includes various rock formations such as mica schists, gneisses and pegmatites, commonly known as the Zenaga Complex.

Mineralisation

The Zenaga concession, located in the Antiatlas, is an area with high metallogenic potential, exploited for copper extraction. The mineralisation, of the VMS (Vulcanogenic Massive Sulphides) type, was formed in a hydrothermal context and is recognised worldwide for its richness in base metals (Cu, Pb, Zn) and precious metals (Ag, Au).

The deposit is characterised by quartz veins and basic dykes cutting granodiorite and schist, showing an important structural control. The geological setting, with its volcanic, volcanosedimentary and plutonic formations, is favourable for this type of mineralisation.

Exploration

Interpretation of geophysical profiles on the licence identified structures of geological significance. Drilling confirmed indications of copper-bearing structures, while high conductivity anomalies were detected in the north-west area, which could be linked to mineralised silver concentrations. These results highlight the metallogenic potential of the area studied.

As part of its development strategy

for the coming years...

Goliat Minerals plans to implement an ambitious drilling programme at the Zénaga site.

This programme will be primarily oriented towards the follow-up of targets identified during previous exploration campaigns, while extending research into new areas with high mineralised potential.

As a continuation of its strategy in terms of investment and mining valorisation...

Goliat Minerals has started the semi-industrial exploitation of this project.
